NAMIBIA Travel with Yavorskyy: Rocks, Falls and Girls

by nmdbpublished on October 9, 2020

In April 2019 we traveled to Namibia chasing Vlad Yavorskyy’s lifelong artistic dream: to photograph the African Women inside the Eye of God at the breathtaking Spitzkoppe rocks. The dream came true in the NudeGem Book: buy your copy online https://ivynewyork.com/blogs/books/nu… Driving from Windhoek all the way north to the Epupa Falls on the border with Angola, we passed through Kunene Region, Etosha National Park, Damaraland, Ameib Ranch, Usakos, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, Namib Desert, Spitzkoppe, Opuwo, Waterberg Plateau, Brandberg Mountains… We met local Himba tribes, watched spellbinding sunsets of Namibia, surging Epupa waterfalls from above, giraffes in the wild, local settlements, huge golden rocks, how dunes meet the ocean, the majestic camels… African girls told us the story of this land through patterns on the body, through meditation and their absolute freedom. We didn’t even manage to cover such Instagram favorites as Sossusvlei, Skeleton Coast, the ghost town of Kolmanskop or the Big Dunes which you probably wanted to see in this video. Instead, we wanted to show you the energy of the off-beaten routes and real people. Namibia is the land of wildlife, unimaginable colors, sounds, the land where the most beautiful Tourmaline and the rarest Blue Jeremejevite gemstones come from. Watch this magic video / audio / photo delight created together by Vladyslav Yavorskyy, Sammy Galinsky and our dear friend Stephen Wayda.
