Blind Sex

What happens when a blind young woman accidentally wanders on to a nudist campsite and encounters several naked young adults. Discovery. That is the gist of the 2017 feature short Blind Sex.

The French movie (English captioned) which runs just over 30 minutes is not a naturist film. The majority of it is set in a nudist camp and people of various of ages are depicted in a nonsexual nudist settings. The story centers around the main character’s (Louise) encounter with some young adults camping at the nudist site. In the space of the half hour time the shows us Louise discovery of the joy of non sexual nudity and the joy of sex.

There are a few cinematic devices used by the director that are jarring at first but overtime become an integral part of telling the story. While there is an explicit sexual scene it doesn’t feel gratuitous or pornographic.  Viewer beware this scene in my opinion is not appropriate for children. Overall the actors do a good job though there were a few moments when the main characters blindness was less than believable. The story holds together well. With a longer running time some of the secondary characters who impact Louise’s journey to discovery could be further explored.

Through a naturist lens the film present very positive depictions of nudism, naturism and non sexual nudity. This some through clearly despite the tittilating title and sexual encounter scene. In some respects Blind Sex rebuts the notion that those who enjoy being in non sexual group setting are prudes or asexual in general. This is likely to be a source of some debate in naturist circles but I feel the sexual encounters are handled in a manner in line with naturist principles. For all these reasons I give Blind Sex 4.5 out 5 stars. Share your thoughts in the comments after viewing this film.
