Naked and Afraid season 14 premieres. The fourteenth season of Naked and Afraid the “ultimate survival challenge” reality show premieres Sunday, February 27 at 8pm ET/PT on Discovery. Following on the season spin off series of Naked and Afraid of Love Discovery promises this season strips away all clothing and expectations. Viewers can anticipate all new locations (something that seems incredible given how many places the show has been) and all new challenges.

Among the new challenges the survivalists are set to face beyond new locations are language barriers and a  neuro-diverse participant. Naked and afraid has included a diverse set of participants from the early seasons but this will be a first time a person on the autistic spectrum (Asperger’s) will take the 21 day challenge.  Other firsts include a transgender survivalist and a haunted location. In the special edition Tribes episode the grown children of two Naked and Afraid All stars with attempt a 14 day challenge.

Naturists typically have a love it or leave it attitude towards the show. Some purists and those who focus on naturism as nudity decry the pixelization used in the show. Others see the premise as unhelpful. We think the presence of ordinary people on television, doing a survival challenge, naked in nature goes a long way to normalizing naturism despite the pixelization.
