What’s the best streaming service for naturist content. As more people cut the cord and get their entertainment through online streaming platforms we wondered. Are streaming services, with their penchant for niche content any better at providing naturist content than cable? We decided to find out. We searched two free streamers TUBI, and Plex. Also four paid subscription streamers, AMC+, Amazon Prime, Netflix and HBOMax. The search was simple, we searched the nudist on each of the streaming services. This is what we found.
TUBI
A quick search of nudist on streaming service TUBI unearthed three movies that with a naturist interest. American Nudist Act Naturally my Body is not Obscene. The first two are definitely naturist though the quality differs and the third is a documentary that explores a subject that is covered often in naturism.
AMC+
AMC’s new streaming services currently hosts the indie docudrama flick Free the Nipple examining the birth of the Free the Nipple movement for top free equality.
Plex
Our nudist word search on Plex turned up a American Nudist as well as two podcasts covering the subject of nudists. However, neither of the podcasts were locatable when clicking on their links.
Amazon Prime
The search continued on Amazon Prime which surfaced several naturist films that were available for free or to rent as well as a host of sexually oriented films with no connection to naturism or nudism except for the presence of nudity. The naturist films the previously mentioned Act Naturally (free with Prime membership) and American Nudist (avaialble to rent or buy) as well as the documentary Naked in America (for rent) and a couple of vintage nudist exploitation movies as Mark Storey calls them in his book Cinema Au Naturel The Nudist Story and Blaze Starr Goes Nudist (both currently unavailable). One other naturist related movie available to rent in the Amazon nudist catalog list is a Decent Woman (set in a pretty bawdy naturist camp).
Netflix
Our Netflix search with two exceptions Worn Stories the documentary series that features Life at a nudist resort i the first episode and the Marlon Wayans comedy farce Naked. The rest of the listed titles are cornucopia of movies featuring sexualized nudity and sex.
HBOMax
A search of HBO streaming service turned up nothing.
The results
The answer to the question of the best streaming service for naturist content is simple there isn’t one. There is a dearth of naturist content on the streaming platforms with the same movies popping up over and over again. The limited options lead to two observations. There is a real need for more quality naturist content. We try to keep you current by add the the naturist movie database (NMDb) regularly so check it often for updates. Secondly the association of the search term nudist with sexually oriented movies is unfortunate, especially in light of the lack of serious naturist content counter programming. Recently there was a conversation on Twitter about the possibility of a naturist streaming service. After some good discussion the conversation died. The conclusion was there isn’t enough capital to generate that kind of thing.
